M E A S U R E S explores the synesthetic relationship between sound, image, motion and color.
Four super 8 projectors are each gelled with a primary color: red, green, yellow and blue. Before the performance begins, each member of the audience is given a toy instrument, and asked to «play a corrosponding color». For example: drums play red, xylophones play yellow, ukeleles play green, keyboards play blue. When the projections begin, four colored figures appear and begin to move. As the audience follows the motion of the assigned color, the soundtrack to the film is composed.
